Closing the Data Gap in Tactical Fuel Operations

Did you know that many military fuel levels are still measured with a wooden ruler?

In an era defined by advanced sensors, real time networks, and digital command platforms, one of the most critical inputs to operational readiness is often gathered manually. A soldier climbs a truck, inserts a stick into the tank, and estimates the reading by hand.

The challenge is not a software problem. It is a data reality problem.

If accurate data never makes it off the vehicle, no dashboard, application, or command system can compensate for the gap.

At STAT-TIS, we set out to solve that problem at its source.

Over the past three months, our team has been operating in stealth alongside soldiers, focusing less on assumptions and more on observation. Instead of starting with a whiteboard, we started in the field. We listened to operators, maintainers, and leaders describe where friction slows them down and where critical information simply does not exist when they need it most.

Together, we built technology around those unmet needs.

Our solution integrates purpose-built hardware, intuitive software, and direct field support to capture reliable fuel data at the point of use and deliver it directly to the systems soldiers already trust, including ATAK devices. The goal is simple: eliminate manual workarounds, reduce communication gaps, and provide accurate readings regardless of conditions such as limited visibility, adverse weather, or high operational tempo.

Recently, we completed field validation with an active U.S. Army unit during real world training.

This was not a controlled lab environment or a scripted demonstration. It was operational reality.

We tested what data actually exists in the field.
We observed what breaks under real conditions.
We learned what operators trust and what they immediately discard.

That feedback shaped every iteration.

By working side by side with soldiers, we refined the system in real time, improving reliability, usability, and performance based on direct operator input. Each change moved us closer to a solution grounded in how logistics actually works, not how we imagine it should work.

The result is a platform built from validated ground truth, designed to deliver actionable fuel intelligence that supports faster decisions, reduces risk, and improves sustainment across the formation.

We are grateful to the early partners, soldiers, and leaders who invested their time and candor to help make this effort successful. Their insight ensured that what we built solves real problems, not theoretical ones.

As we continue expanding deployments and preparing for future exercises and contracts, our focus remains the same: close the data gaps that create friction and give warfighters the clarity they need to operate with confidence.

If you are working on operational decision making, logistics, or infrastructure where missing or unreliable data still drives risk, we would welcome the conversation.
